Overview of Required Documents
Depending on your personal and financial situation, Dutch banks may request some or all of the following documents:
- Passport
- Employment contract (werkgeversverklaring)
- Most recent payslip (salarisstrook)
- Annual statements (max. 3 years – send what you have)
If you’re self-employed:
- Chamber of Commerce registration
- Annual accounts & tax returns (max. 3 years)

1. Passport (ID document)
We need a valid ID to confirm your personal details.
Please send a clear photo or scan and make sure:
- it is in colour,
- all edges are visible,
- front and back are included,
- the document is still valid,
- for passports: include the photo page and the page next to it.
Tip: place your passport on a table with good lighting and take the photo straight from above.

2. Employer’s statement
Your employer must complete and sign this document. Please do not fill in anything yourself.
Before sending, quickly check:
- all fields are completed
- it includes a signature, company stamp and contact person name
- it is filled in by one person in the same pen colour, without corrections
- the document is not older than 2 months
- if a statement of intent is included, it also has a signature and stamp
If you work through an employment agency, the agency must complete and sign the document.

3. Most recent payslip
Please send your latest payslip so we can verify your income.
Before sending, check:
- the payslip is not older than 2 months
- your name and employer are visible
- the bank account where the salary is paid is shown
Let us know if any of the following applies to you:
- parental leave
- bonus or irregular payments
- recent salary increase
- employed for less than 6 months

4. Annual statements (jaaropgave – max. 3 years, send what you have)
Please send your annual income statements from the last years, if available. This helps us verify your income history.
Before sending, check:
- your name and employer are visible
- the full year is shown
- all pages are included
If you recently started working and don’t have older statements yet, just send the ones you have.

5. Chamber of Commerce registration (KvK-registratie) – self employed
If you are self employed, please send your Chamber of Commerce registration. We use this to verify your business and how long you have been active.
You can download this document from the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) website.
Before sending, check:
- your name and business name are visible
- the KvK number is shown
- the start date of the business is visible
- all pages are included
If you recently started your business, just send the most recent extract you have.

6. Annual accounts & tax returns (jaarrekening & belastingaangifte – max. 3 years)
If you are self employed, please send your annual accounts and tax returns from the last years. We use these to calculate your average income.
Before sending, check:
- the documents include the full financial year
- profit and loss statement is included
- balance sheet is included (if available)
- the tax return is submitted to the tax office (Belastingdienst)
- all pages are included
If you have fewer years available, just send what you have.
