Yes, most mortgages let you make extra repayments (extra aflossen), often up to a percentage of the loan each year without penalty. Repaying extra lowers your debt, your interest and your loan-to-value (LTV), which can later qualify you for a lower rate. If you exceed the penalty-free limit on a fixed rate, an early-repayment charge (boeterente) may apply.
