Yes, if the lender agrees that the remaining partner’s income is sufficient to carry the mortgage on its own. This step, called release from joint liability (ontslag uit hoofdelijke aansprakelijkheid), removes the leaving partner from responsibility for the loan. A valuation and buying out the other partner’s share of the equity (overwaarde) are often part of the arrangement.
