The fixed-interest period (rentevaste periode) is how long your mortgage interest rate stays the same, for example 5, 10, 20 or 30 years. A longer period gives certainty about your monthly payments, while a shorter one is often cheaper but riskier when the rate resets. At the end of the period you get a new rate based on the market and your remaining loan-to-value.
