Make sure to cancel contracts on time and confirm the end date.
2. Deregister from your municipality
Before leaving the Netherlands, you must inform your municipality. Provide:

3. Keep your DigiD
Even after leaving the Netherlands, DigiD remains useful. You can still:
- check your taxes
- access pension information
- view employment history
4. Inform your employer
If you are working in the Netherlands, notify your employer in advance. Depending on your situation:

- or resign earlier
This can affect your eligibility for benefits, so it’s important to plan this step carefully.

Make sure all authorities are informed about your move. Check:
- tax office
- SVB
- any benefits you receive
All outstanding payments should be settled before leaving.

- close your account
- or keep it and manage it online
Choose what works best for your situation.
8. Repay outstanding loans
Before leaving the Netherlands, make sure all loans are repaid. Keep proof of payment.
Financial institutions can still contact you abroad.
9. Car registration and insurance
If you own a car:
- deregister it or export it via RDW
- cancel your car insurance
If your insurance is with Polisa, inform them in advance.
10. Translate your diplomas

Yes. You can sell your property even if you are leaving the Netherlands. Many sellers complete the process while already abroad. We can guide the full process remotely and coordinate everything on your behalf, including communication with buyers and the notary.
No. Your physical presence is not required for most steps. Viewings, negotiations, and coordination can all be handled by us. Even the notary process can often be arranged with a power of attorney if needed.
In many cases, a property is sold within a few weeks. From listing to agreement usually takes 2–6 weeks. After that, the transfer at the notary takes another 4–8 weeks. In total, the process typically takes around 2–3 months.
When the sale is completed, your mortgage is repaid at the notary using the proceeds from the sale. If the sale price is higher than your remaining mortgage, you receive the difference as equity.
Yes, but timing is important. In some cases, you can agree on a later transfer date or arrange temporary solutions. We help you plan the timeline so your move and the sale are aligned.
Typical costs include the agent fee, notary costs, and possible mortgage-related costs. We always explain the full cost overview in advance, so you know exactly what to expect before making any decisions.
Not always. Small improvements such as cleaning, decluttering, and minor repairs can already improve presentation. We advise you on what is worth doing and what is not, based on your situation and the market.
After accepting an offer, a purchase agreement is signed. The buyer usually has a short legal reflection period. Then the process continues towards the notary, where the final transfer takes place. We guide you through each step.
That’s not a problem. We help you create a flexible plan based on your situation. This includes pricing strategy, timing of the sale, and alignment with your move abroad. The goal is to avoid unnecessary pressure and keep the process clear.
